David, of Santa Fe, was predeceased by parents Amado Alarid and Maria Inez Gonzales-Alarid; wife Louise Casados-Alarid; and son David Alarid Jr.

David was survived by stepdaughter Eva Lucero (husband Leo) of Pacifica, California; daughters: Corrine A. Vigil (husband Anthony) of Albuquerque, Patricia Kleinschmidt (husband Phillip) of White Rock, Romaine Alarid of Santa Fe, and Paula Alarid (partner Wendy Law) of Potomac, Maryland; sisters: Dolores Rodriguez (husband Luis) of San Leandro, California and Rosa Garcia (husband Arthur) of Aztec; brothers: Fidel Alarid (wife Toni) of Velarde; Amado Alarid (wife Margie) of Irvine, California; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

David served during World War II as a Scout and a Sharpshooter in the 172nd Infantry. He saw duty in the Bismarck Archipelago, New Guinea, and the Liberation of the Philippines (at Luzon) Campaigns. David was well known in the Santa Fe area as a skilled carpenter. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

A visitation and Rosary were on 7 Jul 1997 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial was on 8 Jul 1997 also at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment was in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
