Larry Grayson Baldwin Sr., 64, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Born in Canton, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Owen William Baldwin and Margaret Rentz Baldwin. In addition, he was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Wicker Baldwin (1994). He was owner of the Baldwin Funeral Homes in Hinds County, MS until 1976 when he became a Mississippi State Highway Patrolman. Larry also worked for the Emergency Operations Center in Jackson, MS. He retired to Destin, FL in 1986. He purchased Santa Rosa Beach Auto Repair in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida in 1991. He was also a member of the Santa Rosa Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Larry remarried Patricia Webb Baldwin in 1997 in Destin, Florida. They relocated to Franklin, NC in 2001. He volunteered at and was later employed by the Macon County Sheriff's Department. Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 81 of Franklin, NC. He was also a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Webb Baldwin; three children, Susan Baldwin Yeosock and husband, John, of Atlanta, GA; Patricia Ann Baldwin of Atlanta, GA; and Larry Grayson Baldwin Jr. of Destin, FL; three step-children, Eric L. Thrasher and wife, Diane, of Oxford, AL; Lance K. Thrasher and wife, Dawn, of Canton, TX; and Tonya Thrasher Dupree and husband, Timothy, of Oxford, MI; two brothers, Owen William Baldwin Jr. and David Aaron Baldwin both of Jackson, MS; one granddaughter, Addison Elizabeth Yeosock; seven step-grandchildren: Adam L. and Nathan E. Thrasher, Ariel N. Thrasher, Jackson and Carter Dupree, Emily Payne, and Tiffany Auer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 12, 2008, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC. Reverends Eddie Trull and Lynn Dulakis will officiate. Burial to follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday, April 11, at Macon Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Owen William Baldwin Jr., David Aaron Baldwin, Timothy Dupree, Brent Merritt, Robert M. Webb and Adam Thrasher. Members of the Macon County Sheriff's Department will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church at 366 Holly Springs Church Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
