He grew up in Oakland & Alameda, graduated form St. Joseph's, Alameda High and University of San Francisco. Served in US Army in WWII with the Occupation Forces and Military Government in Japan. Retired from Army Reserve as a LT. Col. He worked for Real Estate Dept. of Safeway Stores, Inc. and Walgreen Drug Stores from which he retired. He is survived by 1 brother Lawrence W. Bangs and wife, Grace of Albany, OR, sister, Donna C. Geer and husband, Sam of Westminister, TX, 2 nephews, 3 nieces, 4 great-nephews, 5 great-nephews, 5 great-nieces, and many other relatives and friends. He was a devout Catholic.
