Wesley A. "Scat" Gibson, age 51, of Onondaga Nation died Monday, August 11, 2003 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Syracuse, New York.
Wesley was born May 30, 1952 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Calvin and Ruth (Sampson) Gibson. He was a graduate of LaFayette High School and ITT Techinical Institute. He was a professional Zambone Operator for the Onondaga Nation Arena working with R, Mike, Aaron, Little John and Kristen. He was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Gison and Scat's loving companion Carleen (Darlu) Marie McDonald.
Scat is survived by his mother, Ruth of LaFayette; mother-in-law, Agnes May Beauvaid (McDonald) of Kanesatake, Quebec, Canada; one son: Brice Jerone Gibson of Onondaga Nation; two daughters: Lisa Di Gibson and Allix De Gibson both of Kanesatake, Quebec, Canada; four brothers: Gary Gibson of Onondaga Nation, Jerome (Dote) Gibson of Nedrow, New York, Dale Gibson of Nedrow, New York, Calvin Gibson of Pensacola, Florida; six sisters: Sheila (Sheedy) Dougherty of McDonough, New York, Cheryl (Bedite) Guilfoyle of Syracuse, New York, Maureen (Poody) Skye of Tampa, Florida, Laura Antzak of Syracuse, New York, Sharon Gibson of LaFayette, New York, Mari Honyoust of Onondaga Nation; grandchild, Caleb Toby Hannaburg (son of Lisa); nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many, many, many, many friends who were, to him, considered family also.
Funeral: Friday, August 15, 2003, 10:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., and 11:00 a.m. in Onondaga Nation Wesleyan Church, Route 11A, Onondaga Nation with Pastor Bob Green officiating.
Burial: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse.
Friends may call Thursday, August 14, 2003, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse.
Due to allergies, in lieu of flowers, plants or donations would be greatly appreciated.
