MISHAWAKA - Walter H. Ziegert, 84, of Tanglewood Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, in Crestwood Assisted Living.

Mr. Ziegert was born on Aug. 30, 1913, in South Bend, Ind., to Otto E. and Helen M. (Stephan) Ziegert, and was a lifetime area resident. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Jack Ziegert.

He is survived by a sister, Lucile A. (Richard) Sausaman of South Bend; and by a brother, Raymond O. Ziegert of Bonita Springs, Fla.

Mr. Ziegert retired as a foreman from Schafer Gearworks. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Emmaus Lutheran Church, 929 E. Milton Street, with Rev. D. Richard Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church or to Harbor Light Hospice, 300 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
