A murder and suicide verdict
was expected to be entered by
Cleveland authorities today in the
deaths of a 40-yeat-old Elyria father
and a 39-year-old Cleveland divorcee,
whose bodies were found
in the locked bathroom of the
woman's West Side Cleveland
Home Saturday night.
The Elyrian is Mike Andrachik,
husband of Martha, the cook at the
Lorain county jail.
The divorcee was Melba Mellenbrook,
of 5110 Hermann avenue.
N. W., mother of two children. She
was divorced six months ago.
Cleveland police said that Andrachik
apparently followed Mrs. Mellenbrook
into the bathroom and
shot her in the head with a revolver,
then shot himself.
Their bodies were found Saturday
night by Mrs. Mellenbrook's
mother and brother. Mrs. Goldie
Rock, 57, and Alfred Bock, 42.
Mrs. Andrachik said that she had
filed separation proceedings against
her husband, whom she married
18 years ago. ^hey have three chil-
dren, Michael, 17, James, 14 and
Sandra, 10.
Andrachik is suivived also by
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Andrachik of 225 Beech street, a
brother Steve in Cleveland and
another brother. Andrew, in the
U. S. Marine Corp., at Oceanside
Calif.
Andrachik was a veteran of
World War II.
His body was brought to the
Bittner Funeral Home here where
friends may call Tuesday evening
Funeral service arrangements were
incomplete today.
Mrs. Andrachik was in Cleveland
today to attend the funeral of her
mother, Mrs. Gruss, who died Friday.

street, will be held Wednesday
at 9 a. m. from the Bittner Funeral
Home. Burial will be made in the
Soldiers Plot at Ridgelawn cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
