Charles V. Bridge, 83, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born March 31, 1918, in Latrobe, a son of the late Lawrence F. and Lillian Noel Bridge.
Prior to retirement, he was a superintendent of safety for West Penn Power. He was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church, BPOE 907, and American Legion Post 515.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad A. Bridge; and a brother, Francis H. Bridge. He is survived by his wife, Inetta "Polly" Anderson Bridge; a son, Charles A. Bridge and his wife, Judith, of Harrisburg; a grandson, Charles A. "Andy" Bridge of New Stanton; and two brothers, Robert G. Bridge of Westchester, Pa., and Lawrence E. Bridge of South Carolina.
Friends will be received at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Aimee W. Twigg officiating. Interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park Inc., Delmont.
