Charmaine was born August 28, 1958 to Kathaleen and W.I. Rodgers. She attended the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. At the time of her death, she was a supervisor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas where she had been employed for 16 years. Charmaine was a dedicated employee and always respected by coworkers and friends.

A kind young woman with a love for people, she accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of nine years. Charmaine was president of the Sisterhood at Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church where she was faithful in her duties until her death.

She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Smith, of Garland, TX; her parents W.I. and Kathaleen Rodgers of Orange, TX; her sister, Vada Neal (Ricky) of San Antonio, TX; brothers Marion Ali and Stacey Ali of Houston, TX; grandmother Ethel Moore of Milam, TX; Aunts Easter Adams of Orange, TX; Mary Brackens (Nathaniel) of Richmond, CA; Carol Taylor of Dallas, TX; Mazie Powers of Richmond, CA; Bobbie Lou Brown of Orange, TX; Uncle Sidney Rodgers (Rene) of Orange, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and devoted friend, Ida Bishop, of Lewisville, TX.
