She grew up in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1942. She worked for a short time at the Grand Island Ordinance Plant.
On May 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Glenn Howard Newman at Bellville, Kansas. They farmed near Aurora. Inez worked as a nurse's aide at Hamilton Manor for over 25 years. She was a secretary for Ross Insurance for several years. In 1980, they retired and moved into Aurora. Glenn passed away on May 31, 1988.
Inez was a member of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, the Grand Island Eagles and TOPS. She volunteered at the Hamilton Manor, the Thrift Shop and the Plainsman Museum. Inez loved to square dance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Eddie; sister, Wilma Ueckert and great-grandson, Tanner Salmon.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Dan (Julie) Newman of Aurora; two daughters, Martha (Jim) Salmon of Aurora and Ina Rae (Ed) Krautsdorfer of Dayton, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
