DEATH OF MR. C. C. PRICE

Another Brave Confederate Soldier Goes to His Reward.

Mr. Calvin Callaway Price of near Ebanezer (sic) church died April 17, 1921, of paralysis. He was as well as usual when he retired Saturday night but owing to a thunder cloud approaching, he tried to get up and dress himself, but could not, so the family soon became alarmed and called a doctor, but nothing could be done, and death came to his relief a few hours after he was stricken.

He was married to Miss Mahalie Helms April 7th, 1861, and to this union were born nine children, viz.: Messrs Jim, William, John, Tom, Henry and Charles Price, and three daughters, Mesdames Caze Cochran, Lee Benton and Tom Helms. They all survive him together with fifty-one grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren. He had only one brother, Mr. E. A. Price, and one sister, Mrs. Ellis Baucom, living. He lived to the ripe old age of 84 years and had been married 61 years. He was a faithful member of Ebanezer Baptist church and was a living example of patience. He seemed never to worry about anything, let come what may. Not only being a faithful member of the cross, he was also a soldier in the civil war and served for four years in active service. He was in Co. D, 37th regiment and had only a slight scratch on the finger. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. A. Marsh, and he was laid to rest in the Price cemetery. May the widowed wife and children look to the One Who "doeth all things well" and prepares for the great reunion up yonder.--A Relative.
