Mrs. Gladis McCartney Alsup, 84, of the Wales Community, died August 27, 2007, in NHC HealthCare, Pulaski. She was a member of East Hill Church of Christ and a home maker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Euna (Cole) McCartney, and a brother, Robert E. McCartney. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Paul Sain officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the East Hill Church of Christ Building Fund in Pulaski. Visitation was to have been today (Tuesday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband, James W. Alsup of the Wales Community; daughters, Janet Alsup Wise and husband Dwayne of Starkville, MS, and Carol Alsup Hogue of Florence, AL; son Jimmy Alsup and his wife Nancy of the Wales Community; sister, Adell Dollins of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Michael Wise, Bill Hogue, Kristie Pruett, Elizabeth Prosser, Miranda Houlim, Jill Jones and Brad Alsup, and nine great grandchildren.
