Mortician’s mother, 80, dies here-- Mrs. Hattie Isabell Bess, 80, mother of Kenneth B. Bess, Miami funeral director for the past 20 years, died Thursday night in a hospital.

Mrs. Bess came from Hendersonville, N. C., and had resided at 2436 N. W. Seventh Place, for many years. She was a member of Highland Park Methodist church and the Woodmen’s Circle here.

Funeral services are scheduled Sunday afternoon at a small country church, Bess-near-Hendersonville.

Survivors in addition to the son, Kenneth, include six daughters--- Mrs. Rossie Lamar and Mrs. Luna Mae Carter, Miami; Mrs. W. A. Ledford, Bunkerhill, W. Va.; Mrs. Brunner B. Beam, Blacksburg, S. C.; Mrs. W. B. Wilson, Hendersonville, and Mrs. O. C. Lowe, Asheville.
