Randall Wayne Tyler, 57, passed away at his home in St. Albans. He was born on Nov. 27, 1949 and grew up in Sissonville , having graduated from Sissonville High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a firefighter for the city of St. Albans from from 1976 until he retired as a captain of the department in 1999. On his days off from the department, he worked various jobs such as construction and carpentry work, and was a mechanic
for a while for the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority. He was also a bluegrass musician and had several bluegrass bands. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evie Harrison Tyler, and
a brother, Thomas Lloyd Tyler. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Suzi and James Tyler of Raleigh, N.C., Thomas and Loretta Tyler of Culloden, Amanda and Tom McDonald of Columbus, Ohio, and Sandra and Doug Hill of Charleston; and his wife, Patricia of Alum Creek. In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren, Dallas and Harley Tyler and Abby Hill; a brother and sister , Roger Tyler and Kathy Comer, both of Charleston; nieces, nephews , great-nieces, great-nephews , cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. Funeral services . Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrison family cemetery Trace Fork, Gold Town, with military graveside rites.
