BODY OF ELYRIAN BEING RETURNED FROM EUROPE
The body of Pfc. Lee P. Burgett Jr., who was killed in World War II, is now
being returned to the United States from Europe aboard an Army transport,
according to a report by his mother, Mrs. Marjorie Burgett, 421 Elm street.

Mrs. Burgett has been informed by the Department of the Army that her son's
body is on its way home, but she has had no word as to when it will arrive so no
funeral arrangements can be made yet. The body will be returned to the
Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home here.

Pfc. Burgett was one of five brothers who served in the armed forces in World
War II. He was employed by the Perry-Fay Company before entering the Army on
August 31, 1943. He served with the mechanized infantry in the Rainbow
Division, and was overseas only about three months before he was killed in
action in France on July 10, 1944, at the age of 20 years.

His brothers who were in military service during World War II have now
returned to civilian life and are living in Elyria. They are Russell, who was
in the Army Air Forces; Richard, who was an aerial gunner instructor; Jack, who
was in the Marine Corps, and James, who was in the Army. Their father was the
late Lee P. Burgett.

country in World War II are now on their way back to the United States aboard
the Army Transport Greenville Victory, the Department of the Army announced
today.

Lorain Countians were sons of Elyrians, one was a Grafton soldier and one was
from Lorain.
