CYNTHIA ANN DRAGOO.

Cynthia Ann Bryan was born April 7, 1830, at Clayton, Adams county, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Belteshazzar Dragoo, July 27, 1847. To them were born fourteen children of whom seven are living - Thomas B., of Westboro, George B., Springfield, Mo., Daniel and Frank, of Pierson Ia., Miss Jennie, of Correctionville, Ia., and Mrs. John Flack, of Westboro. There are eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A step-daughter, Mrs. E.A. [Elizabeth Ann] Guthrie, lives at Tarkio. Two sisters are living - Mrs. David Gordon [Eveline], of Westboro and [Massie Jane Bryan Dunreth] (illegible). Mrs. Gordon is 83 years of age. (illegible) is 79 and Grandma Dragoo was 81. Mr. and Mrs. Dragoo moved to Atchison county in (illegible)... and one-half miles west of Rock Port. This was their home for many years. Twelve years ago Mrs. Dragoo moved to Westboro. Her husband died in 1894.

When eleven years of age she was converted, and, with her sister, Mrs. Gordon, united with the Methodist Episcopal church. For seventy years she enjoyed the blessings of a christian life. She had a large circle of friends and acquaintances and all admired her splendid christian character. She had not been in good health for several years and during the past year suffered very much. Death came to her relief at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Flack, Wednesday evening, May 3, 1911.

The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Westboro, Friday afternoon, May 98, at one o'clock, by the pastor, Rev. E. L. Robison, after which the body was taken to the Home cemetery at Tarkio for burial. - Tarkio Avalanche
