Obituary:
Violet Louise Rasmuson; 67, long time resident of the Baker area passed away Monday, July 31,1989, at the Sweet Grass Community Hospital at Big Timber where she was visiting her daughter and family.
She was born March 28, 1922, in Pierce County, Wisc., the daughter of Mathias and Ella (Larson) Bach. Violet attended the Herbert School and later graduated from the Ellsworth High School in 1940.
She was married to Eldon Rasmuson on April 3, 1943, in the Heartland Methodist Church in Pierce County, Wisc. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Montana and farmed on the Big Hill. They moved into Baker in 1952. They continued to farm on the Big Hill until 1980 when Eldon retired.
Violet enjoyed bowling, knitting, traveling, playing cards, and having coffee with her friends. She especially enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. Violet held many local and state offices in the Woman's Bowling Association, and was a lifetime member of the Woman's Bowling Association.
She was a member of the Baker Community Church, Royal Neighbors, Eastern Star, and the Community Church Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband, Eldon, of Baker; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Elmarie) Maas of Big Timber; two grandchildren, Matt and Maria Maas, both of Big Timber; an aunt, Laura Myers, of Fargo, N.D.; and numerous cousins.
Prayer service was held Friday, August 4, 1989, in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Baker. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 5, 1989, in the Baker Community Church with Pastor AI Wendelburg officiating.
Organist was Alice Kay Schweigert and pianist Ruth Wang accompanied soloist Leon Newell who sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art".
Pallbearers were Dale Schweigert, Harold Lund, Relvin Larson, Bill Randash, Doug Wenz, and Max Mueller.
Interment was in the Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker. Graveside rites were by the Eastern Star. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Baker was in charge of the arrangements.
