Leland E. Martin
Danvers - Leland E. Martin of 142 Summer St., husband of Ethel A. Sanford Martin, died unexpectedly Saturday in Hunt Memorial Hospital.
Born in Danvers, 82 years ago, son of the late Bertram and Cora Story Martin, he had been a lifelong resident of this town.
Prior to retiring, he had been employed at the former Hunt Rankin Leather Co of Peabody for 40 years.
He was a member of Mosaic Lodge, AF and AM.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Deputy fire chief Leland E. Martin Jr. of Danvers, 2 sisters, Mrs. Estelle Allen of Milton and Mrs. Ruth McLelland of Washington DC; also 2 grandchildren, Linda and Jeffrey Martin, both of Danvers.
Funeral services will be held in the McElroy Chapel of the Maple Street Congregational Church Tuesday at 2 pm.
