Elaine Ellis Rouse passed on to her heavenly home on February 14, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born to Simon Thomas and Ann Branan Ellis on April 3, 1954, in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Henry County High School and Georgia State University. She taught business education at Forest Park High School and Lovejoy High School, affectionately referring to her students as her "lil darlings". She loved people, her friends and family, and most especially her nieces and nephews, always being the first to call them on birthdays and just to catch up. She loved to make "reservations" for lunch and dinner, often with friends. In the Ellis tradition, she loved Fox News. She was also an avid fan of all football, SEC and NFL. Her smile and laughter were contagious. She faced many health challenges during her life with grace and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ann Ellis, brother, Tommy Ellis, and stepson, David Rouse. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Jerry, who made her the happiest bride on November 17, 1996. She is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lynn and Ray Lambert, sisters and brother-in-law, Linda (Jim) Dunson, Sandra Bilger, and Bill (Viki) Rouse, granddaughter, Callie Rouse, nieces Robyn (Al) Ellis Vaughn, Ansley (Eli) Lambert McAvoy, Aubrey Beth Ellis, Sadie (Alex) Lambert Ginn, nephew, Rip Lambert, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Burial will follow at McDonough City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
