Virginia Pauline Smith, 97, of Chillicothe, passed 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at CareCore at Westmoreland.

    She was born April 7, 1926 in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Clarence M. and Ella (Dixon) Wallin. On June 17, 1954 she married Ralph O. Smith, who passed December 12, 1976.

    Surviving grandchildren, Linda Green, Randy (Rhonda) Green, Benjamin (Christine) Davis and Jessie Thompson; 7 great grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by son, David E. Smith; daughter, Shirley Blazer; step-daughters, Iris Jean Gradhaus and Betty Lou Hatfield; grandson, Douglas Green; brothers, Harvey, Clyde, Willie, Fred, Charles, Arnold and Russell J. Wallin; sisters, Maxie Wallin, May Newsome, Lexie Stewart, Jessie Marie DeMint and Imogene Clark.

    Virginia was a homemaker for her family. She attended Free Will Baptist Church.

    Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 at WARE FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Jeremy Schinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Waverly. Friends and family may call from 10 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
