My parents were married Aug. 18, 1951 in Bollinger County at the home of the bride. Mom & Dad owned and operated Golightly Greenhouse for many years. Dad had already been in the Navy for 10 years when he married Mom, and was in for another 10 years after they were married. Mom and Dad lived in Virginia, Tennessee (twice), Texas, Mississippi, and Morocco, Africa, before Dad retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. Dad was left-handed, played horseshoes, worked as a carpenter and built many things, and loved flying. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and built model airplanes.
