George N. Dotzel


George N. Dotzel, RD, Box 300, Mountain Top, died Monday at Mercy Hospital where he had been admitted Friday.


He was born in Wilkes-Barre June 20, 1901, son of the late Nicholas and Ann Keck Dotzel. He had been a resident of Mountain Top since 1951 and had been a painting contractor for 50 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of St. Mary Help of Christian Church, Dorrance.


He is survived by his wife, the former Nellie Geffert; son, George Jr., York; Fred and Joseph, Wilkes-Barre Township; Karl, Whitehouse Station, N.J.; Norbert and Philip, Slocum Township; 37 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.


Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 from Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Mary's Church, Dorrance. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 by the Rev. John F. Zalewski.
