Fayette County - JAMES E. "Jimmy" ANTHONY, SR., 76, resident of Somerville, retired farmer, welder and husband of the late Kathy Riley Anthony, died April 23, 2008, athisresidence. Services, 2 p.m. Saturday at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64. Visitation will continue from1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Peebles West Chapel. Additional information provided by Find A Grave contributor David Mayo: JAMES EVERETT "JIMMY"ANTHONY, SR. a resident of Terra Alta Lakes near Somerville, died at 12:45 P.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at his residence on Heaven Hill Drive. He was 76 years of age and died following an extended illness. Funeral services for Mr. Anthony were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland with Bro. Boyce Wilson of Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64 at Oakland. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayett County Funeral Home-West Chapel of Oakland. Mr. Anthony was born November 21, 1931, in Somerville, Tennessee, the son of the late Claude Everett Anthony and the late Dollie Jane White Anthony. He was educated in the public school system of Fayette County and was the husband of the former Kathy Riley who preceded him in death Febraury 4, 1997. Mr. Anthony was a resident of Dallas, Texas from 1954 until he returned to Fayette County in 1986. Mr. Anthony was employed as a welder for over thirty years and later in life was employed by Lou Monta Farms in Oakland. Mr. Anthony was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church and his interests included wrestling, playing his guitar and the mandolin. Mr. Anthony is survived by his daughters, Kay Anthony, Jennifer Morrow, Judy Anthony of Memphis; his sons, James Anthony, Jr., Jacob Anthony, both of Somerville, Danny Anthony of Memphis, Charles Anthony of Blackfoot, ID; five sisters; Lena Mae Sweeton of Somerville, Marie McGary, Terrell, TX, Linnie Waddell, Mason, Ellen Morris, Cookeville, TN and Virginia Smith, Kaufman, TX; four brothers, Fred Anthony, Burlison, TN, James (Bimbo) Anthony of Mason, Danny Pattat, Crandall, TX and R.V. Shubert of Granite City, IL and six grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Reuben Meyer, Sr., Reuben Meyer, Jr., Rickey Sweeton, John Edward Sweeton, Jamie Anthony and Chris Anthony.
