Services for Mr. Gerald L. Lacy, age 85, of Lindale are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery.

Mr. Lacy died on Monday, March 17, 2008, in a Tyler hospice center.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1922, in Rice, Texas, to Every and Ora Agnes Morman Lacy and was a lifelong resident of the Tyler and Lindale area, living in Lindale for the past 27 years. Mr. Lacy was formerly employed by the Reliance Clay Products Co., and retired from the Trane Corp. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. Lacy was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Noel Lacy.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Julia Lacy of Lindale; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Charles and Cynthia Lacy of Lindale; daughter and son-in-law, Karon and David Hughes of Lindale; four grandchildren, Brittany Munn and husband, Aaron, Brooke Harbaugh and husband, Steven, Timothy Hughes and wife, Alease, and Craig Hughes; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kate, Sarah, and Julia Hughes; Ty Harbaugh, and Noah Harbaugh; aunt, Vera Cline of Austin; brother-in-law, Benton Betts and wife, Cynthia of Waco; sister-in-law, Johnna Lou Lacy of Crandall; and three nephews, John, Jim, and Jeremy Lacy.
