Throughout her life she lived the majority of her time in Indiana, working with the Nylon Craft Company for 34 years.
After her retirement she and her husband David Fawley decided to move, so they built a home here in Robeson County to spend time with her late Mother and the rest of her family. Mrs. Fawley and husband Dave have lived happily in their home nestled back in the woods in Rowland, NC.
Mrs. Ruth enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and her church family. She was a dedicated member of Riverside Independent Baptist Church faithful to never miss a Sunday until she was unable to do so.
Mrs. Ruth leaves behind her loving husband of 34 years, David Fawley of the home. A son Leonard Cooper of South Bend, Indiana; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Makin (Michael) of Elkhart, Indiana, a son, Raymond Locklear; a grandson, Jacob Locklear, both of Robeson County; a granddaughter, Jenna Rose and a grandson, Chris Makin, both of Indiana; She also leaves behind her sisters, Vashtie Sampson of Lumberton, Naomi Oxendine (Glenn) of Rowland; her brothers, Ernest Chavis (Marie), Gary Chavis (Carolyn) and Terry Chavis all of Lumberton.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Chavis.
Mrs. Ruth spent her time sitting on her front porch with her husband, Dave, just rocking the time away, all the while talking on the telephone. When she was able, she would visit the sick and go shopping, she always enjoyed dressing up with her hats and strolling around town. Mrs. Ruth Fawley will truly be missed by her family and friends.
