George Japp, a life-long resident of the Kennard vicinity, died Monday at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was 66 years of age.

The deceased was a member of a large, pioneer Washington County family who had devoted their entire lives to agriculture. He was born in Kennard, March 8, 1906. He spent his entire life on the farm although he held a number of other community interests. He was a member of depression-born Kennard Co-Operative Credit Association and he was also a board member of a local mutual insurance company.

He was never married. He is survived by four brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Lester and Wilmer Japp, both of Kennard, Elmer Japp of Blair and August Japp, of Ravenna, Nebraska.

The sisters are Mrs. Ruby Wingate of Crystal Lake, Ill.; Mrs. Elsie Ensign and Mrs. Rolland Ensign, both of Harvard, Ill.; Mrs. Walter Groves and Mrs. Olaf Cronberg, both of Omaha.

Funeral services were held at Grace Methodist Church in Kennard Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. James Warn, of Blair conducted the service. Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair, was made in the Kennard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elmer Thone, George Lund, George Lauritsen, John Lorsch, Byran Lauritsen and Merle Andersen.
