Memorial services for Shirley A. Nelson, 68, of Burleson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Roy Dillard officiating. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Ms. Nelson died Saturday, April 19, at Hugeley Hospital in Burleson.
She was a Burleson resident for the past eight years and was born July 28, 1939, in Milano to Mary Sue Daniels and Alvin W. Nelson.
Ms. Nelson was a retired secretary for a waste management company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Charles McGoldrick and Essie Nelson; and a brother, Alvin "Buddy" Nelson Jr.
Survivors are two daughters, Vicky Mendez of Melissa, Ciny Neal and husband Rick of Burleson; her stepmother, Dorothy Nelson of Milano; two brothers, Thomas Nelson of Milano and Norman Nelson of Gause; four sisters, Barbara Starr and husband Bennie of Rockdale, Theopal Alexander and Donna Cox, both of Lexington, and Betty Fay Nelson of Milano; and four grandchildren, Danielle and Stephanie Neal, Cameron and Tyler Mendez.
