Mrs. Ruth Taylor, age 71 years, widow of John Taylor, a veteran of the Civil War, died at her home, Front Street, Saturday morning. She was brought home from the Easton Hospital, Friday where she had been receiving treatment. She had been in poor health for some time. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. John Mackey of Easton, and one granddaughter, Miss Alberta Walters, of Belvidere.
1850 census lists she was born about 1845, family living in Stroud, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Her mother was Charity "Cowel" Shannon, who died in 1888.
