Pamela Jean Pearson Stanger, a South Weber resident, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, in the University of Utah Hospital after an 8-month medical battle.

Pam was born in April of 1948 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Cecil and Helen Pearson. She was raised in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1966. Pam had always been thoughtful and outgoing. She loved to dance in her younger years and made several friends, many of whom would remain by her side for life. Pam married her husband, David Stanger, just a year after her high school graduation, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Salt Lake City Temple. Pam and Dave have been happily married and resided in South Weber since.

Some of Pam's many talents included sewing for her children and grandchildren, decorating and creating crafts for all to enjoy. She turned her hobbies into a business with the help of Marilee Martin, one of her childhood friends. The two attended many craft shows nationwide, but always found their way home in time to decorate for Christmas celebrations and weddings. In addition to professional decoration, Pam cut hair for family and friends. Anyone in need would be met with willingness and love.

In her later years, Pam's family became her focus in life. She regularly attended her grandchildren's events and never wavered in supporting them. Spending time with her great grandchildren brought her happiness and joy.

Pam was an active member of the LDS church and held a variety of church callings over the years, ranging from teaching to decorating church events. Pam and Dave spent several years at the nearby Camp Lomondi, in service to the LDS church.

Pam is survived by her husband, David Stanger, and her four children, Sheri Johnston, Brenda (Brock) Spencer, Craig (Nicole) Stanger, and Brett Stanger. In addition, her sister, Peggy Pearson, six grandchildren, with four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry Pearson and Cecil C. Pearson, as well as one grandson, Taylor Johnston.

Pam's legacy is one of giving, sharing, inclusivity, love, and overwhelming kindheartedness. Her friends and family will remember her as a kind heart who was a friend to all. She will be missed by many.

Despite experiencing pain many of the last days of her life, Pam never complained of her circumstances and remained grateful for the medical care she was offered. Pam was kind to the medical staff and caregivers who helped her. Her family remains grateful to those who offered

her medical care.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Weber 1st Ward, 1401 South Weber Drive, South Weber, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
