Professional Baseball Player. James John Hannan was an outstanding pitcher in Major League Baseball. He played for the Washington Senators from 1962 to 1970, the Detroit Tigers in 1971 and the Milwaukee Brewers in the same year. His baseball journey began at St. Peter's Preparatory School, where he was inducted into the first class of its athletic hall of fame in 2005. He later continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, where he signed with the Boston Red Sox and made his way to the minor league season. After being selected in the first-year player draft, he began his illustrious Major League career. His best season was in 1968, where he posted a 10–6 record in 25 games pitched for a last-place team that lost 96 games. Throughout his 10-year career, he appeared in 276 games with a record of 41–48 and an ERA of 3.88. He posted nine complete games, four shutouts, and seven saves.
