John B. Rohrer, age 87, formerly of 2201 William Penn Way, Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at ManorCare Health Services.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John L. and Margaret Gremli Rohrer and the husband of the late Mae O. Rohrer, who died in Feb. 2007.

John was employed as a metal press operator for the former New Holland Machine Company and Sperry Rand.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

John was a member of the Harvest Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.

Surviving are a son, John B. Rohrer, Jr., Mayflower, AR, three grandsons, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a sister, Margaret, wife of Benjamin DeVerter, Smoketown, PA and a niece, Carol, wife of Harold Findley, New Providence, PA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie O. Rohrer and a sister, Helen Swope.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's Life Celebration service at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Monday, Apr. 28, 2008 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Massey officiating. Interment in Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at Groff's on Monday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Please omit flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to Harvest Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O.
