Fred Doyle Jones
ENTERPRISE - Fred Doyle Jones, 87, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at home in Enterprise, Utah surrounded by family. He was born June 30, 1918 in Enterprise to Fredrick and Katie Smith Jones. He married Catherine Bradshaw in the St. George Temple on February 5, 1953.
Doyle was raised in Enterprise and graduated from Enterprise High School. He served in the Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He served his country for four years. He was given an honorable discharge.
Doyle was active in the LDS church as a Home Teacher, Elders Quorum Teacher, Elders Quorum Counselor, Elders Quorum President for eight years, Stake Missionary, Counselor to the Stake Mission President and Assistant Ward Clerk. Doyle and his wife Catherine served an honorable mission in the New York, New York South Mission in Long Island, Staten Island and Rockaway and loved it so much that they went again two years later and served for another year and a half.
Doyle was a miner, farmer, and a state road worker. He enjoyed being outdoors - working with and hauling wood, hunting, fishing, working with his sheep, camping, gardening and daily walks and exercise. Doyle had the biggest and best garden in town and loved to share it with everyone.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Catherine; children: Larry (Rebecca) Jones of St. George, Bradley (Terry) Jones of St. George, Gerald (Tammy) Jones of Enterprise, Leo (Marivic) Jones of Enterprise, Allen (Carrie) Jones of Spanish Fork, and Marie (Eduardo) Del Aguila of St. George; 28 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ivan Jones of Logandale, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Smith, Clair, Lavon, Cline and Darian; sisters, Wanda Schimbeck and Britta Jones; daughter, Clarine; son, David Lynn; granddaughter, Jasmine Del Aguila; and great granddaughter, Aubrey Perez.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006, 11 a.m., Enterprise Stake Center. Visitations will be on Sunday, June 25, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W St. George Blvd., St. George, UT and again on Monday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the services at the Enterprise Stake Center.
