Professional Football Player. He played the wide receiver position for the American Football League's Oakland Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals from 1967 to 1969 and the National Football League's Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Rams from 1970 to 1973. Born Rodney Jarvis Sherman, he played football collegiately at the University of Southern California and was All-Pac-8 in 1966. In 1966, he was drafted by both the NFL's Baltimore Colts in the 4th Round and the AFL's Oakland Raiders in the 7th Round of their respective league drafts. He signed with the Raiders and played on their AFL Championship-winning team in his rookie year of 1967. In 1968, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals and played with them for one year before rejoining the Oakland Raiders in 1969. His second tenure with the Raiders lasted three seasons before he joined the Denver Broncos for the 1972 season. He played for the Broncos for one year before joining the Los Angeles Rams in 1973. He had short stint with the Rams, playing for them for one year before leaving professional football after the 1973 season. His career statistics included 105 receptions for 1,576 yards and 5 touchdowns.
