He grew up in Weston, Louisiana where he attended Weston High School for all 12 years of his education. He played baseball for the Weston Wolves throughout high school.
After graduation, he got a job with a bridge construction company and spent the next few years years working in Mississippi and Louisiana.
He married Donna Waldrop on May 21, 1983 and adopted her 3 year old son, Jason Waldrop in September 1984.
Their daughter, Ashley Leighanne was born in June of 1986.
In December of 1989, they relocated to Donna's home State of South Carolina. He spent the next 34 years living and working in Greenville, SC, High Point, NC, Lawrenceville, GA, and finally Barnwell, SC.
Most of those years were spent working for 3 different Plastic manufacturers, spending his last 14 years working for a Zinc recycling company.
He loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and keep up with baseball and football especially college sports (Geaux Tigers!) He took especial delight in 2019 when his LSU Tigers beat Donna's Clemson Tigers for the NCCA National Football Championship. He loved NASCAR, grilling and spending time at the beach.
He was a good husband an excellent father and the most outstanding PawPaw that any kid could be lucky enough to have.
He was friendly and outgoing, able to talk to anyone, never meeting a stranger. He loved animals, never saying there was no more room.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents, his son, Jason Keith Gandy, his father and mother-in-law John (Pete) and Norma Waldrop and a brother-in-law, Bobby Waldrop.
Those left behind to cherish their memories of him are his wife of 40 years, Donna; His daughter, Ashley Gandy and grandson Jack Avery Waterworth of the home.Six other grandchildren, Kayleigh Faulkenberry, Ian Bowers, Kathryana Johnson, Katelyn, Jordan, and Callen Dove.. Love makes us a family, not only blood.

He will be greatly missed and his wife and daughter wonder how they will every go fishing again without him to bait their hooks and take their fish off the hook?
