Mitzi Andies Dunn, 80, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. She was born June 25, 1943, in Afton, Tenn.
She was a Godly woman who loved her family. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
She attended Chuckey-Doak High School, where she was a player on their first girls' basketball team. She married her high school sweetheart and raised her family in Tusculum.
She worked at the Greeneville Walmart in the Pharmacy department for 20 years, where many knew her helping hand. She retired from there in 2011 and spent her retirement with family, attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities and attending services at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church as long as her health allowed.
She is survived by her 3 children, son Mike (Theresa) Dunn and daughters, Sheri (Johnny) Solomon and Misty (Lee) Key - all of Greeneville; 6 granddaughters, Tiffani (Mike) Dotson of Afton, Kendra (Jeffrey) Howlett of Greeneville, Maggie Solomon of Charlotte, N.C., Logan (Jake) Allen of Johnson City, Jada Key and Kayla Key, both of Greeneville; 6 great- grandchildren, great-grandsons Josh Estepp, Peyton Estepp, Brady Estepp, Arlo Allen and Leo Allen, and a great-granddaughter Karsyn Howlett; great-great-grandson Bentley Estepp; a sister Brenda Andies of Greeneville; a brother Teddy (Judy) Andies of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dunn is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Troy Dunn; parents, Walter "Les" Andies and Golden Andies; 3 sisters, Mildred Blake, Edith Renner and Masil Renner; 3 brothers-in-law, Homer Blake, Ralph Renner and RB Renner; and longtime friend Dean Smith.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Life Care Center of Greeneville and Amedisys Hospice as well as special family friends Peggy Sams and Sue Mahal.
There will be no formal visitation per her request. The graveside service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2 pm in Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Collins officiating.
