Wednesday of last week Mrs. Letha Elizabeth Sawyer, wife of our fellowtownsman, Dan Sawyer, was attacked by malarial fever and since then the family physician, Dr. R. S. Hollenbeck, had reported her as seriously ill.
All medical aid and attention otherwise was given the estimable lady but to no avail. Tuesday morning at ten o'clock she passed away leaving no children but a devoted husband and two brothers, George and Robert Ragsdale, with a wide circle of relatives and friends to mourn her death.
The deceased was born in Humphreys county, Tennessee, February 28th, 1861, and was beloved by all who knew her.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday forenoon at 11 o'clock from the family residence on Second street to New Hope cemetery where she was buried.
The MISSOURIAN joins the hosts of friends of the bereaved family in their deep sympathy for them.
