Fort Ashby, WV - Lee Kenneth Close, 63, of Fort Ashby, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer. Born February 14, 1952, in Frostburg, MD, Mr. Close was the son of the late Kenneth Lee Close and Anna Pearl (Blocher) Close. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Gerald Close; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A graduate of Beall High School, Class of 1970, Lee retired in 2007, from the United States Postal Service as Manager of Mail Processing. He was Past Governor of the Frostburg Moose Lodge #210. Lee is survived by his wife of 43 years: Danette (Snyder) Close; his son: Keith Close, Martinsburg, WV; his daughter: Tina Macklen and husband, John, Lexington, SC; his grandchildren: Maggie Macklen, Aidan Macklen, and Kahlob Close; and John's Children: Amanda Macklen Morgan and husband, Derrick; and Johnny Macklen. No services are planned at this time. Lee and his family would like to thank Dr Scott Watkins, Dr Blanche Mavromatis, his "angels" at the Schwab Cancer Center- each of you so very special and compassionate, all of our faithful, prayerful family and friends, Pharmacare Pharmacy at the WMHS, and the volunteers who came regularly to pray with him at the Cancer Center.
