James "Jim" Roy Anderson, Sr. of Cuba, MO was born on Friday, May 16, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Roy Mars Anderson and Alva Bernice Anderson, nee French. He passed away surrounded by his loving family at Cuba Manor on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 9 days.

Jim grew up and went to high school in University City, MO. He married the love of his life, Audrey Louise Kitson on December 17, 1960 in Overland, MO and to this union four children were born. Jim had worked as a welder at Cuba Hardware and Callaway Nuclear Plant, as a dock hand for Roadway and lastly helped at Friends Helping Friends. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba, MO. He served as an elder and deacon at the church and loved going on missionary trips to New Mexico where he built churches. Jim was a carpenter and a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed working in the yard, reading and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved going to Branson and had watched all of the shows at Sight and Sound Theater. Jim enjoyed attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events but most of all, loved spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Alva Anderson; father-in-law Champ Clark Kitson; mother-in-law Leona Kitson (Bill) Brakefield; sisters Joan Bereuter and Judith (Frank) Farley; brothers-in-law Clark Kitson and Edward Kitson; sister-in-law Margie Dietrich.

Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey Anderson of Cuba, MO; children Tammy (Ed) Harman of Cuba, MO, James (Rita) Anderson of Farmington, MN, Jeff (Karen) Anderson of Ballwin, MO and Jason (Debbie) Anderson of Farmington, MO; 9 grandchildren: Christina (Kevin) Crowley, Joshua (Hayley) Anderson, Kayla Anderson (fiancé Donovan Kostron), Samuel "AJ" (Tabatha) Harman, Dillon Anderson (fiancée Romina Shayesteh), Shelby Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jordan Anderson and Emma Anderson; 2 great grandchildren Sammy Harman and Maggie Harman; brother-in-law Ken Kitson of Collinsville, IL; sister-in-law Shirley Kitson of St. Louis, MO; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral was at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba, MO with Pastor Jeremiah Wilson officiating. The service was livestreamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO's Facebook Page. Burial was at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, MO.
