Ruth M. "Ruthie" Martin was born Aug. 27, 1935, in rural Delavan, daughter of Aaron and Mary Wittrig Martin.
She married Harold D. Schilpp, Jr. on Oct. 31, 1953, in Terre Haute, Ind. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Denise (Bob) Wraight; one son Dee (Barb) Schilpp; two grandchildren, Aaron (Jenny) Schilpp and Adam Schilpp; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Isaac Schilpp; one sister, Edith Weaver and three brothers, Warren (Dorene) Martin, Lloyd (Lucile) Martin and Larry (Joyce) Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
