He leaves behind his wife Hildagard LaFever of 64 years, a daughter Evelyn Miller and husband Ed, granddaughter Amanda Miller, grandson Cody Miller, and granddaughter Chelsea Miller, two great grandchildren Isabel Miller and Ryker Shokri Bargoot-Miller, three sisters Bessie Kennedy, Linda Steward (Jim), Mardell Brown (Steve) and one brother Phillip LaFever (Nancy) and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents James Louie and Bonnie LaFever, son Michael James LaFever, son-in-law Mark Miller and nephew Eric Alvin Steward.
James retired from the Army as a Sergeant after serving 21 years where he served in Vietnam and Korea and was based in various stateside Army posts. After retiring from the Army he worked over 20 years as a civilian at Peterson Air Force Base and Shriver Air Force Base. James loved his family and was always a good friend to whoever he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and by his family.
