He was preceded in death by three brothers: Nevin C., Edwin B., and George H. Bridenbaugh; and a sister, Mary Jane Hinish.
Robert was a 1950 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. In 1954 he received a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Med from Juniata College, Huntingdon and in 1960 graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
He started his medical practice in 1963 in Martinsburg on Oakdale Road. Robert later moved his office to the Cove Medical Center, located on Nason Drive in Roaring Spring. He officially retired in April of 2001 at the age of 79, missing only two days of work in 38 years of practicing medicine.
Robert was raised in the Memorial Church of the Brethren in Martinsburg and recently attended East Freedom Chapel.
Dr. Bridenbaugh loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping with his sons, deep sea fishing trips, hunting, reading and beekeeping. Robert was also passionate about tennis and served on the board for the Cove Tennis Courts for many years.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm, Friday, February 2, 2024, at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, and from 10 am until the 11 am, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the funeral home, where a funeral service will begin at 11am, with Reverend Jerry McCuller Jr., officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
