Melody passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024 in Canton, Texas. She was born into a military family on the base at Irumagawa, Honshu Japan to John and Gloria Lynn.

Melody or "Mel" ,as she was affectionately called, was an Air Force brat; raise in many places where the family was stationed. She grew up seeing the world. Mel graduated high school and went on to earn a degree in nursing. Her career as an RN spanned over 48 years. Melody loved caring for her patients and they loved her. Mel was their angel. She was knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. Mel had the respected of her coworkers and doctors for her dedication and passion. She inspired other nurses to be the best they could be and her daughter, Kelly to carry on the traditions and compassion as a nurse.

On June 17, 1977 she married her one true love, Larry Neal. The two built a wonderful live together full of love and joy. Mel's life outside of the hospital was all about family. She was a devoted wife, amazing mother to four children, best "Grammy" to nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mel touch many lives throughout the years. She will be dearly missed but live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gloria Lynn; daughter, Kimberly Neal; brother, Michael Lynn.

Mel is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Neal; children: Tami and Jerry Cole, Kelly Neal, Chris and Wendy Neal; grandchildren, Andrew Davis, Michael Davis, Matthew Blasingime, James Bishop, Justin Tidwell, Dylan Tidwell, Kamryn Hawkins, Samantha Neal, Jaron Neal; great grandchildren, Hayleigh, Porter, Beau, Emmie, Ellie, Olivia, Brinley, Marlin; siblings, Valerie Hoots and Jeff Lynn; a host of other family and friends.

"If I could give you information of my life, it would be to show how a woman of very ordinary ability has been led by God in strange and unaccustomed paths to do in His service what He has done in her. And if I could tell you all, you would see how God has done all, and I nothing."
