Manley (Pete) Dew passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, surrounded by his family at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville, Ohio.


Pete is survived by his sons, Eric (Barbara) and Darren (Rhonda Harvey). He is also survived by Phyllis Dew and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kelsey (Stephen) Wells, Kyle (Paige) Dew, Kayden Dew, Slade Dew, Elijah Wells, and Lilly Wells; and his siblings, Ruth Dew and Ralph Cole.


He was born on February 14, 1942, in Corning, Ohio.


Pete worked for Cesco as a kiln fireman for many years.


Pete loved to hunt, ride four wheelers, spend time outdoors, and eat DQ dilly bars.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Edna; and siblings, Mary, Eddie and Gloria.


Pete enjoyed the company and care of the Shrivers Hospice team and the nursing staff at Highland Oaks.


There was a private viewing on January 25, 2024, with care provided by Goebel's Funeral Home in Crooksville.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Pete's name to Shrivers Hospice.
