Russell on Sept 6, 1937, also from Caney, Kansas. Betty worked as a secretary for the Kaw Pipe Line Company and was a supportive housewife while Jesse was away overseas during WWII. After the war in 1950 they moved to Denver, Colorado where Betty resumed the role of fulltime housewife and mother to one son, Jeffrey A. Russell.
