David spent his working years as a truck driver in the commercial transportation industry. In his retirement, he was a man of many hobbies - from car restoration to lawn care, assembling model cars, drawing, and most importantly, helping others. He was the kind of guy who could fix anything - unless it was his own lawn mower, then he'd just buy a new one. David was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran in the 101st Airborne Division from 1969-1971. He was also a proud member of the Galien American Legion, where he regularly demonstrated his unique ability to turn a casual conversation into a comedy sketch.
David leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by his wife of 51 years, Ellen, and their loving children: David III, Kelly (Robert) King, and Dawn (Tim) Williams. Butch's brothers and sisters, Bruce Beadle, Richard (Jaun) Beadle, JD (Barbara) Beadle, Jerry (Amy) Beadle, Lori (Gary) Friemuth, Kathy (Virgil) Quick; and friend, Timmy Williams; all have their share of funny Butch stories to tell. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Brittney (Kyle Seifert) Williams, Tyler (Kaylei Sheldon) Williams, Brianna (Alex Jonas) Williams, Courtney Williams, Amanda (Cordel Johnson) King, Candace (Brendal Lolmaugh) King, Conner (Madison Melton) King, Bryan Beadle, Shaylyn (Cody Haulcomb) Beadle, Justin (Corynn) Beadle, Ryan Beadle, Madisyn Beadle, Owen Beadle; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Seifert, Ella Seifert, Kyrie Johnson, Ensley Johnson, Bria Johnson, Danielle King, Briar Lolmaugh, Bentleigh Haulcomb, Sonny Haulcomb, Nola Haulcomb, Wyatt Haulcomb, Willow Haulcomb, Kaelyn Kaiser, Izaak Beadle, Oaklyn Beadle, Zayne Beadle, Knox Beadle; one great-grandson on the way, Hickory Lolmaugh. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember him as the grandpa who could always make them laugh, while his son, Larry, and sister, Brenda Nance, whom he joins in the afterlife, are probably already chuckling at his arrival.
In the wise words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." So, let's all remember Butch as the funny, loving, compassionate and inspiring man he was. We invite family and friends to share their favorite David 'Butch' Beadle stories and post photos on his memorial page. His humor may have departed this world, but it will never leave our hearts. Family will have a private memorial service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI.
