Columbiaville
COLUMBIAVILLE – Mrs. Linda Noel Schmidt, 73, passed away surrounded by her loving family at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Linda was born in Flint, on Christmas Day 1948, to parents Arthur & Florence (Rose) Evans. She was the second of four children and graduated from Millington High School. Linda met Ronald "Ron" Schmidt; they dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 14, 1965, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. They celebrated 45 years of marriage, raised their four children, and shared countless memories before Ron's passing in 2010. Linda enjoyed working at Kaiser's, Bavarian Inn, and especially at Ben Franklin. A gifted seamstress and quilter, Linda sewed many beautiful dresses, clothes, purses, and quilts for her children and loved ones. Further, she was an avid reader, enjoyed working in her flower beds, woodworking, and decorating her home. Above all, she was devoted to and loved spending time with her family.

Linda is forever loved by her children: Tia (Paul) Strickler, Jill (Sonny) Bigelow, Jeremy (Seree Jo) Schmidt, and David (Christina) Schmidt; grandchildren: Ashton (Shianne), Matthew (Summer), Michael (Dana), Nathan, Casey, Ryan, Jesse, Jonah, Amaya, Morgan, Jace; and great-granddaughter, Kinsley; brother, Michael; sister, Robin; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron; parents, Arthur & Florence; and sister, Paulette.

Friends may call on the family from 11 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Hanlin Funeral Home. Services to celebrate Linda's life will begin at 1 PM, with Pastor Timothy Martinal to preside. Afterwards, Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband Ron in Tuscola Twp. Cemetery.
