James was preceded by his parents; and half-siblings, Ernest Wayne Halliburton, Lena Pledger and Edith "Mozelle" Day.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of honor, duty, and patriotism.
Education also held a special place in James's heart as he pursued knowledge with diligence. His quest for academic excellence culminated in the attainment of an associate's, bachelor's and a master's degree. He studied Agriculture at Texas A&M Commerce in east Texas.
For many years James worked as an auctioneer, bringing his skills and passion to the vibrant world of auctions. He enjoyed problem solving and challenging himself by learning new skills. Throughout his career, he worked as a high school agriculture teacher, a manager for the Dallas Times Herald, and a plant manager for Oak Farms Dairy.
James Cornell leaves behind a legacy of service and education. We celebrate in the knowledge that James made peace with God before he passed. He will be remembered dearly by those who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11400 FM 2478, Celina, Texas 75009. A memorial service will be held the same day at 1:00 p.m., at Country Lane Seniors Community, 2401 Country View Lane McKinney, Texas 75069 in the dining room. The family will receive friends at the graveside and at the memorial service.
