Her dad was a coal miner. She was born in a family of nine kids, all born at home. Just lucky that two midwives lived on the same road and it was arranged ahead of time with another neighbor that when a baby was going to be born that it was okay that the oldest daughter could bring all the other kids to their house while their mother had the baby. So sometimes it would be in the middle of the night, so when they was allowed to go back home there would be a little baby laying beside their mother.
There wasn't any electricity or water back then in their homes back in the 1930's, and the first car Vivian rode in was one of the square ones. Since then the mines closed down and it is called Big South Fork. Vivian was born poor, but wouldn't trade her memories for anything.
Any way, she is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lional Boyer and Dora Delia Vaughn Boyer, her husband, Wallace S. Still; two sisters, Virginia and Lillian; three brothers, Paul, Ted and Junior.
Vivian had four kids she is leaving behind: her son, Wallace Still Jr., three daughters, Sheila (Mark) Jackson, Beverly (Robbie Tittle) Still, and Angie Still; a sister, Carolyn, a brother, Leon; five grandchildren, Amber Lynn Brewer, Jena Morgan Reeder, Tashia Kirby, Dustin Still, and Brittany Whittaker; seven great-grandchildren, Brylan Brewer, Emma Brewer, Kenzie Upton, Braxton Brewer "Reeder", Levi Still, Destiny Brown, and Jaxson Whittaker; and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00pm with burial in the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday until the time of service.
