Graveside services for Steve Daron Jackson, 63 of Kaufman have been scheduled for 1:30 P.M. Tuesday January 23, 2024 at Shelby Chapel Cemetery in Athens with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Tuesday morning from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
Steve passed away January 11, 2024 in Kaufman after a brief illness.
He was born July 26, 1960 in Athens to the late Chester Travis and Mitzie Evelyn Boyd Jackson. Steve worked for Office Max in the Dallas area for the past 28 years. Steve loved all people and could make friends with anyone; he never met a stranger. He loved old cars and had several of them, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved animals but especially loved his horses. He also liked Panda bears and always said he could own one he would.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mitzie Jackson, brother; Monte Lynn Jackson, paternal grandparents; Nevette Monroe Jackson and Myrtle Estelle Baker Jackson, Maternal grandparents, Willie L. Boyd and Dovie Harris Boyd, nephews, Sean Ryan Jackson and James Miley Jackson.
Survivors include his partner of 39 and a half years Michael D. Charters of Kaufman, sister; Nancy White, brother; Rodney L. Jackson and his wife Jeana of Athens, nieces, Alana White, Katelynn White, Karlee Jackson, nephew, Colton A. Jackson.
