Graveside services for Michael Alvin Salmon, 75, of the Neches community will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Parker Cemetery in Grapeland with Pastor W.E. Shiflet officiating. A visitation is scheduled on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Michael passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home.

Michael was born on June 6, 1948, in Grapeland, Texas to Alvin Salmon and Frances Maurine Smith Salmon. He had lived in Anderson County all his life and was retired after 50 years as a building contractor. He loved to fish and enjoyed travelling all over the country with his wife Carolyn in their RV.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Michelle "Chelle" Peterson; his brother, Dan Salmon; and a sister, Judy Dancer.

He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Salmon; daughter, Milissa Kirkpatrick (Richard) of Palestine; sisters, Joy Lusk of Cayuga and Lula Johnson (Kenneth) of Paris, TX; 5 grandchildren, Michael Franklin (T.C.) of Palestine, David Hester (Molly) of Palestine, Samantha Sheffield (Joseph) of Palestine, Caity Hancock (Cody), and Alyssa Thomason; and 8 great-grandchildren, Martin, Zane, Cody, Kade, Lane, Brylee, Kassi, and Hazel.
