The German surname, Schneider, was changed to Snyder.
Benjamin Schneider "was born July 4th, 1808. On February 22nd, 1831, he was married to Eliza Detweiler who was born October 2nd, 1811, and died September 7th, 1840. On September 26th, 1843, he was again married to Esther, daughter of Abraham and Barbara (Shuh) Miller. She was born October 23rd, 1814, and died September 9th, 1855. He resided a little west of Roseville, Ontario, where he was the owner of one of the finest tracts of land in Ontario. Here he was engaged in farming for many years, but when well advanced in years he retired from farming and had his home with his children. He died at Roseville, May 25th, 1892."
